About the Guest
I have an undergraduate degree in philosophy and was in school to become a paralegal when I was the passenger in a motor vehicle accident in 2015. I sustained a severe TBI, broken jaw, and fractured wrist. I had both a facial palsy and foreign accent syndrome in the early portion of my recovery due to my brain injury. I’ve had difficulties getting back into the work force due to my limitations. 7 years after my injury and I am still dealing with PTSD symptoms that can be debilitating among many other debilitating TBI symptoms. I live in Ottawa Ontario with my amazing partner, love baking and cake decorating (I used to work at a bakery), and enjoy engaging with others on my personal Instagram cynthia0rawr where I talk about brain injury and mental health struggles. I also run a baking Instagram account sunshine_cakes.baking that I hope to expand.
💡Fun Fact:
I had foreign accent syndrome after my TBI.
🤓Nerdom:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, baking, and philosophy.
