Summary
It’s a couple days away from Joe’s birthday (July 3rd), the 4th of July and the premiere of the new Spider-Man movie! The NeuroNerds are talking all about how they have beat their personal struggles with celebrating their birthdays and how their brain injury experiences have been a big part of that! Plus they share how they deal with the overstimulation that comes with July 4th parties and fireworks, how they overcame bullying and became comfortable in their own skin after childhood growing pains.

About the Guest
Octavia’s life changed dramatically when she found out she had a rare congenital brain disease, characterized by a cerebral arteriovenous malformation. This went unknown until it hemorrhaged in 2012. Luckily, she survived to tell her story. Octavia currently lives and works in Chicago and is active in the survivor community. She created the blog – nomadicaffeine.com – to highlight “life after” for young survivors.
